Community & Economic Development

Office Hours:  Monday – Thursday, 8:30 – 4:00

The Community and Economic Development office is committed to maintaining a strong, resilient Peterborough. Our office works across town government departments to achieve Peterborough’s overarching goals as detailed in our Master Plan Executive Summary.

Ensuring that all economic activity respects Peterborough’s natural, cultural, and historic heritage, the Office of Community and Economic Development provides businesses and entrepreneurs a professional level of support, information, and resources for the growth of both existing and new businesses, while offering the personal touch of small town service.

We also support the vibrancy of our community by working with volunteers, nonprofit and community organizations whose efforts enrich the quality of community life through arts, education, conversations and events that define what makes Peterborough “A Good Town to Live In”.

Previously the Office of Community Development included the Planning Department.  In 2020, the Community and Economic Development office was moved into the Administration Department.  If you are looking for the Planning and Building Department. find them here.
