PAYT Bag Prices Effective Monday, April 1st, the price of Town of Peterborough Recycling Center trash bags has increased. The local vendors selling the blue bags are Agway (Rt. 202 south), Belletete's (Rt. 202 north), Shaw's (Rt. 101 west) and Nature's Green Grocer (347 Union St). Bags are sold in rolls of 10. Small bags (15gal) are now $11.50 per roll. Large bags (33gal) are now $23.00 per roll.

Joanne Bird Kane Land

Joanne Kane Sign-1The popular Raymond Trail, running up the west side of Pack Monadnock to Miller State Park, was laid along land (135 acres) given for that purpose by Joanne Bird Kane. She also placed a conservation easement on her land (272 acres) across East Mountain Road from the Raymond Trail land.  

At left: Relatives of Joanne Kane gathered at the East Mountain Road trailhead for the Raymond Trail to mount a sign honoring her donation of the land to the town. Joanne also placed conservation easements on significant acreage on the west side of East Mountain Road.
