Adams Park
71 Union Street

Within the confines of Adams Park are a number of recreational amenities to enjoy.  There are two softball fields and a Cal Ripken-sized baseball field, a skate park, four tennis courts which also serve as eight pickleball courts, a basketball court, two gazebos, two Ga-Ga pits, Adams Pool, Adams Playground, and the Peterborough Recreation Department headquarters.  We also have a new bike "pump track" available behind the tennis courts.

         1) The area is not cleaned outside of normal measures and it is not sanitized.  Play at your own risk.
         2) Hand sanitizing stations are at the three entrances.
         3) If you are not feeling well, please do not come and play.  Wait until you feel better - for your sake as well as for the sake of others.
         4) Face masks are highly recommended.  Wear one when social distancing is not possible.
         5) Face masks are required when coming indoors to use the restrooms across the street.
         6) Stay at least 6 feet away from others, when possible.
         7) If it looks like it is getting crowded, please come back on another day/time.
         8) Caregivers are responsible for supervising children and making sure guidelines are followed.
         9) Please wash hands before and after playing at the Playground.

The gazebos are available first come-first served.  If you would like to rent a gazebo (two hour minimum), you are guaranteed its availability for your use.
Gazebo Rental Rates = $20/hour- private rental; $15/hour- non-profit organization; $25/hour- commercial use.

Adams Pool underwent a tremendous renovation in 2013.  Features include a covered spiral slide into the pool; stairs into the pool for a more gradual entry; a hydraulic Hoyer lift; and a zero-depth splash pad with numerous spraying apparatus.

Adams Pool will be open from the afternoon of Friday June 17th to the second or third week of August, depending on staff availability.

Marshall-Thomas Recreation Area
115 Cunningham Pond Road
When the Marshall-Thomas Recreation Area at Cunningham Pond was donated to the town, the residents voted at Town Meeting to allow access to Peterborough residents and their guests only.   In 2018, the Town voted to allow a limited number of parking stickers to be sold to non-residents
The pond is a "swim at your own risk" facility.

Maroon 2022 Parking Stickers are required for parking in the lot from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend.  Previous years' stickers will no longer be accepted.
The facility will be staffed on weekends only, starting Memorial Day weekend.  After June 17th (the last day of public school for the ConVal District), staff will be on duty daily, weather permitting, through mid-August.

How to Get a Sticker:
Proof of Peterborough residency and your car’s registration is
required to obtain a sticker. Each sticker is specific to one vehicle, as we write your license plate number on the sticker. Please place the sticker on the inside, lower right front windshield of your car (the passenger side). The first sticker per Peterborough household is free; each subsequent sticker issued to that household is $15.

Resident Stickers can be obtained in two ways:
1)  By mail: You can send a pre-addressed and stamped envelope, along with a photo copy of your car’s registration and your driver’s license,
to the Peterborough Recreation Department,  64 Union St, Peterborough, NH 03458.  Please include a phone #, in case we have questions.
We will mail your sticker back to you and then shred the information you mailed.
2)  In person: Stickers may be obtained any time our office is open: weekdays 8:30am - 4:30pm. The office is located at 64 Union St.  Please present your ID and car registration to get your sticker.
