Broadband Expansion Project

Update: September 7th, 2021
Consolidated liaison Rob Koster has reported that Consolidated is ahead of schedule and should be getting ready to connect customers by the end of December, which puts them more than a year ahead. Because the grants that Peterborough will most likely qualify for take time to process and because Consolidated is so far ahead of schedule, Consolidated has committed to continuing the buildout without costing the Town anything!

Update: June 15, 2021
Town Administration is currently in contract negotiations with Consolidated Communications working out the nuts and bolts of the financial aspect of the project. Once the contract has been finalized, which we hope will be before the end of June,  it will go to the Select Board for approval and signature.  Then we'll begin the project planning phase.

Update: May 12, 2021
The voters of Peterborough overwhelmingly  passed the Broadband Expansion warrant article on May 11, 2021.  The next step in our process is contracting for the project with Consolidated Communications Inc, which will begin in a few weeks. Thanks to all who supported this important initiative!

The Town of Peterborough issued an RFP in early 2021 in order to solicit proposals from providers to expand broadband service to all addresses in town. The Select Board voted unanimously on March 2, 2021 to move forward with the proposal from Consolidated Communications, Inc.  This expenditure will be included on the Town Warrant for voting on May 11, 2021.  

Representatives from Consolidated Communications Inc. will be in attendance to answer questions received in advance from members of the community.  Submit any questions in advance regarding broadband to: community@peterboroughnh.gov. 

First Public Information Session was held virtually on Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at 6pm.
Follow up Session to present answers to questions wias held virtually on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at 6pm.
