The Peterborough Public Works Dept. is accepting applications for a full-time Truck Driver/ General Laborer. We are looking for a team player that can work in a professional, fast paced, and demanding environment. Job responsibilities include the operation of heavy equipment including dump trucks, plow trucks, backhoes, loaders, and other equipment in support of Dept. objectives; manual labor in support of the maintenance of public streets, sidewalks, drainage systems, and other Town-owned property, including buildings; roadside mowing; street sweeping; traffic safety; and other duties as required to help achieve Dept. initiatives. Persons with construction, carpentry, landscaping, paving, building and facility maintenance, or similar skills and experience are encouraged to apply. Normal working hours for this position are Monday through Friday, 7:00am to 3:30pm, with mandatory overtime for emergencies and weather events. Between June and Oct., the Division moves to a four 10-hour workday schedule.
Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 mos. experience in a related field. Position requires a CDL or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire date. The Town will consider an appropriate combination of education and experience that provide the knowledge and skills to perform a range of duties. Starting pay will be negotiable based on relevant skills and experience. This position is classified as Union Pay Grade 1-3. The Town offers competitive starting wages and excellent benefits, including participation in the NH State Retirement System.

Request for Proposals – Building Assessment
The Town of Peterborough seeks proposals from qualified architectural, engineering, and/or building maintenance/inspection firms to provide a building condition assessment report for the Town’s Community Center located at 25 Elm Street Peterborough NH.
Seeking a highly qualified firm to identify the status of the building and its different spaces and components, provides information on the lifecycle and useful remaining life of the building, building elements and systems, identifies and prioritizes major maintenance deficiencies, and provides cost estimates to repair or replace deficiencies.

Proposals will be accepted at the address below, or via email until the proposal deadline of Thursday September 30th at 3:00pm EST. For proposals submitted electronically via email please state “Peterborough Community Center Building Assessment” in the subject line followed by the name of the vendor submitting the proposal. Late proposals will be rejected. Proposals can be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org. Proposals will be compiled, recorded, and reviewed as they are received.

Winter 2021-2022 Snow Removal Depot Square Request for Proposal

It is the intent of the Town of Peterborough, New Hampshire to engage the services of a qualified firm to provide the Town with snow plowing and removal services for Depot Square. An overview with detailed specifications is available on the Town’s website, or in hard copy format at the Peterborough Town House, 1 Grove St., Peterborough, NH. Bids are to be submitted on an official bid sheet, available on the Town’s website or at 1 Grove St., Peterborough, NH 03458.
Proposals must be received no later than 10/05/2021 at 10AM to be eligible for consideration by the Town. Each bid must be submitted in a sealed envelope plainly marked indicating, “Snow Removal Depot Square 21/22”. Winter 2021-2022 Sand Supplier Request for Proposal

It is the intent of the Town of Peterborough, New Hampshire to engage the services of a qualified supplier to provide the Town with sand for winter operations. An overview with detailed specifications is provided within the Request for Sealed Bid.
Proposals must be received no later than Thursday, Oct. 7th 2021 at 10:00AM to be eligible for consideration by the Town. Each bid must be submitted in a sealed envelope plainly marked indicating, “Winter Sand 21/22.”
All proposals will remain confidential until a public review has been made and an award has been presented. Bids shall be submitted on the enclosed bid sheet (if applicable) to the listed minimum specifications. If you find these specifications to be unreasonably restrictive, please contact the DPW Director immediately for clarification or alternate specifications. If no exception is noted, the specifications as written will be considered acceptable.
