The Town is looking for a dedicated individual who’s core responsibilities would be to compile and analyze data on economic, social, and governmental factors and trends impacting the local economy; propose policies, programs and regulations based on that information which will benefit the Town’s businesses and residents; develop and administer the Town’s promotional and marketing programs; develop and coordinate local business development and retention programs; provides staff support to the EDA, TIF District Advisory Committees, Master Plan Steering Committee and other boards, committees and subcommittees as directed; respond to inquiries from the public; conduct research, analysis, and special projects as assigned; and identify grant funding opportunities and prepare grant application submittals.
Qualified candidates must have excellent communications skills (both oral and written), an ability to read and interpret plans, a sound knowledge of planning/design principles, general familiarity with New Hampshire RSAs, ability to market programs and ideas, proficiency with Microsoft Office, and facilitation/ problem-solving skills. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong customer service approach to problem solving and be able to perform in a value-based and team-oriented environment.
The salary for the Assistant Planner position is competitive and is commensurate with experience and education. The Peterborough DPW Recycling Division is accepting applications for the position of Recycling Attendant 1 Full Time. We are looking for a team player that has the ability to work in a professional, fast paced, customer-oriented environment. Job responsibilities will include general recycling duties and operation of balers and forklift. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, 6 mos. experience as a solid waste operator preferred, but the Town will consider an appropriate combination of education and experience that provide the knowledge and skills to perform the job. Training will be available to the chosen candidate. The pay range for this position is $16.19 through $21.27. Hiring Seasonal Labor
The Town of Peterborough is looking to fill four part-time seasonal laborer positions to assist with the general maintenance of parks and recreational fields from spring to fall 2021. These entry level positions work under the supervision of the Town’s Highway Superintendent and are an excellent opportunity for anyone that enjoys outdoor seasonal work, and especially those with an interest in developing a career in public service.
Starting wage is $12.50, negotiable based on relevant experience. This is a temporary/seasonal part-time position for approx. 28hrs per week.
