Temporary Outside Seating Authorization & Approved Establishments

To Our Valued Restaurant Community,

Thank you for all you do to make Peterborough the special place it is. If you are intending to add outdoor seating or service to the public as allowed by Emergency Order #40, please read below.

The Town of Peterborough has created a process to support your planning and efforts to expand operations.  If you are planning to provide outdoor seating or outdoor service to the public, the Town is required to review, approve and provide a temporary license to ensure the health and safety of our community.

To get started, please complete the application found at the bottom of this page and submit it to Laura Norton in the Office of Planning lnorton@peterboroughnh.gov. A diagram of your planned seating area is required. The Town can provide you with a site map to use to estimate changes as relates to table placement, etc. Tim Herlihy is available to address technical questions you may have. Please contact him at 603-924-8000 x118 or by email at therlihy@peterboroughnh.gov.

We appreciate the increased pressure you’ve been working under during this emergency and our intention is to expedite the licensing process to help you meet your business goals.

Please reach out to Karen Hatcher at khatcher@peterboroughnh.gov if you have any questions about this process.
